This Volvo spot will have your right foot pressed to the floor and a permagrin on your face. Collin enjoyed the fast-paced edit working with more friends from Arnold Worldwide. The team included producer Paul Shannon, creative team Richard Tseng and Matthew Sharpe, with creative director Luke Perkins. The take-away is that the racecar we’re watching is available in a take-home version. Vroom, vroom.

“Bath Tub”

Sometimes we’re too focused on the moment…and common sense evades us. In this campaign for Bank Midwest from Arnold Worldwide, the stories remind us that help is available when we can’t get out of our own way. Collin ushered in the fall cutting with creative team Bill Girouard + Steve Tom along with producer Kevin Shale. And our own Kevin Moore did the color correct. If I’m honest, I’ve been guilty of living “in the moment” a time or two. I recall some laughter at my expense, but no one from Bank Midwest came to my rescue.

This national McDonald’s spot introduced the ultimate compliment that appears to be catching on. At times it’s hard to find just the right word but the folks at Arnold came up with a solution using the much-loved Egg McMuffin. “Superlatives” was concepted by creative team Chris Edwards, Mary Rich and Pete Shamon and produced by Sean Vernaglia. Peter Care at Bob Industries directed this performance-driven spot and Collin edited. Speaking of whom, I, personally, think is the Egg McMuffin of editors. But I digress.

We’re all different but two things we likely share is that we care deeply about our families and our health. The latest campaign from RDW for Fallon Health assures you these are their priorities even though the name of the company has changed to Reliant Medical Group. ECD Jeff Patch and producer Alyson Singer worked with Kevin who cut and finished this campaign. Christian Hoaglund at Redtree Productions directed the real-life patients. And Toil provided the graphics.

Ever want to be at one with nature, without getting all that nature stuff in your toes? These quietly comedic spots for New Balance by the good people at Arnold Worldwide explore the virtues of the Minimus sneaker. Collin spent some quality time with an inspired group of creatives: Pete Shamon, Bryan Karr, Steve Pratt, Luke Perkins, and Mike Howard, with David Register at the GCD helm and Bill Goodell, Director of Integrated Production, producing coast-to-coast. Finishing was done by Kevin at Accomplice. Ah nature. It’s so beautiful when we’re shielded against it.

At the end of the day it’s the simple things that make us happy. In this new Welch’s spot, “Perfect”, their 100% juice is highlighted along with the simple goodness of their grapes. Our VIA friends came down from Portland to be with Kevin as he cut and finished their latest campaign. Creative team Ian Dunn + Chad Vander Lugt along with producers David Logan and Sven Fahlgren pulled it all together. After watching hours of this beautiful footage, Kevin was packing his bags to head for a simpler, healthier and more balanced life on the farm. Don’t worry, we talked some sense into him.

Old friends, new agency; freelance producer Keith Dezen and creative team Mark St. Amant + Randy Rogers, all formerly of Arnold (among other places), brought us these web videos from Sterling Rice Group in Boulder, CO. Collin cut the campaign and Kevin did the finishing. The Pain Fairy concept is something we can all relate to. Take this spot for example, “Minivan”. I don’t know if you have kids but the Pain Fairy strikes in my car daily.

We’re proud to feature a project Jon Mercer, one of our editors many of you know, has been working on for the past several months. This short film spends a day with a three man crime scene cleanup team on the scene of a grisly suicide. Jon wore many hats on the production: co-producer, editor and vfx supervisor. Recently completed, the project is on it’s way into this year’s festival circuit. It’s a performance-driven film that will make you happy you chose advertising and not something more…serious.

Isn’t it nice when a glitch in technology works in our favor? This spot “Conference Call” demonstrates an example of when a dropped call is a good thing. Arnold Worldwide recently produced a new breakfast campaign for McDonald’s that featured this concept. Collin spent much of the summer cutting with creative teams Chris Edwards + Mary Rich, Pete Shamon + Chris Jacobs, and Marco Worsham + Paul Guidry, along with producer Sean Vernaglia. Director Zach Math at Bob Industries delivered these performance-driven pieces that were shot on the Arri Alexa. The next time you’re dropped from a call, it’ll make you wonder…

Super food, super hero. MMB creatives Chris Poulin, George Goetz, Elizabeth Giuggio, Rachel Bukstein, and producer Matt O’Rourke called on Accomplice + Toil for this Subway Avocado / Green Lantern campaign. Director Terry Rietta of Thomas Winter Cooke shot the live action for both spots. Tabletop director David Deahl at Big Deahl Productions brought us those beauty shots. The two spots that celebrate the much-loved avocado were cut and finished by Kevin.

For the Green Lantern promo, Toil matched the existing effects and applied a mystical green glow to the real heroes of this spot – the food. As you’ll see, the cosmic avocado steals the show, and there’s a food explosion in the final moments. But I’ll stop because no one likes it when someone spoils the ending.
